"La Fin du Monde" and what this apocalyptic event means to many of us:

In our lives we are all connected by cycles. From every breath we take, waking and sleeping, rebirth, evolution, shifting of the seasons, to the passing of time. Cycles dictate every detail of our lives and unite us with every aspect of the universe. As is the microcosm so is the macrocosm...

Theories about what will happen during this cosmic alignment vary as widely as our individual personalities. On Dec. 21st -23rd our family will come together just to see what happens O;) ...whether the world collapses into a fiery ball, we pass into the next stage of evolution, or even if it is just another day, we will pass through it together.

This kind of collaboration and multi-day indoor event is a first for all of us, and promises to be an unforgettable experience!! Let’s come together for La Fin du Monde (The End of the World) for a once-in-a-hundred life times cycle completion...Seeya There Angels O;)

Greetings Chicago Burners!

As you forlornly shake the dust out of your boots and pour vinegar into the laundry, fear not . . . because your friends at Burning Man Chicago and the B.U.R.N. 501(c)3 are pleased-as-punch to welcome you to Chicago's Decompression 2012: REBIRTH!

This splendid afternoon and evening of Burning Man-inspired art, culture, friendship, and love encourages you to enact the Burning Man experience right here in the great city of Chicago! Decompression is conveniently tucked down in the near-south side of Chicago, on 35th Street, just a short walk from the Red Line, at a beautiful 5th-Floor rehabbed industrial site of over 20,000 square feet!

REBIRTH
In religion, people may feel spiritually reborn when they find their guiding light, or anticipate literal rebirth after the end of this life.
To to others rebirth comes in more secular epiphanies of the soul. The businessperson becomes an artist, the laborer becomes the organizer, the mistreated partner realizes they must go it alone. Or the lonely find rebirth in love.

Decompression is a time for revisiting, reflecting, and re-energizing; a time to revive the spirit, to rekindle and reconnect with the friends and loved ones, old and new, who defined your Burning Man experience. In a spirit of fertility, your Decompression 2012 will bring renewed verdure to your vibrant city, revitalized with the inexorable life-forces of art, love, friendship and creativity. Chicago's Decompression 2012 will see you born anew into the abundance of your fabulous home away from Home.

Volunteers are DEFINITELY needed, and returning volunteers will get a very special price break. Go here to get involved: http://tinyurl.com/8pkfcba or email chicagodecompvolunteers AT gmail DOT com

A logo for Decompression 2012: REBIRTH is also required. Send your .jpg or .gif submissions to downtowndave23 AT gmail DOT com.

Tickets for Chicago's Decompression 2012: REBIRTH are will go on sale TOMORROW - Wednesday the 26th - at this link http://tinyurl.com/9lrc5qy Tickets are limited, and your organizers expect to sell through all of them. Purchase your tickets on line.

For several months, I've been working as an art consultant and art rep for the W Hotel Lakeshore Chicago. This $30 million  renovation will feature custom pieces by Chicago's graffiti master, Pose MSK.  Here's a sweet vid I found of Pose.   Stay tuned for more news about this exciting project!  Props to Josh Held Design.

apparently this tune is all shit talkin at Nicki Minaj.  Azealia is having so much fun with it!  Bangin' fresh tune.

I'm in San Francisco!!!  I'd like to use this space to quote a fellow Regional Contact named Sauce about how crucial this year's summit will be to the future of our culture.
"I leave for SFO tomorrow and the cats and I are REALLY excited. I’vebeen lucky enough to attend parts of all five previous summits, and it’s always a highlight of my year. Burner-leaders are some of the coolest motherfuckers around, and having the chance to network with people who run these events across the globe always leaves me deeply inspired.

Things are crazy in Burning-Man-land right now, and we all feel it. My
friends’ lives once revolved around their playa plans, but most aren’t even ready to "talk nice" yet. Devotion has been replaced with rage, and we're the ones spending our time at parties listening to endless complaints. With the dramatic increase in creative-types losing their yearly Mecca trek, it’s up to us to find ways to facilitate responsible growth (and responsible birth), or loose these members of our Burner family altogether.  Because of a bitches brew of policy, propaganda and propane things got
crazy, and we’ll never know exactly how or why this is happening. We can only learn from the past, and together build a future that’s capable of withstanding past pressures and problems. The Regional Network has long been a source of best practices, and those just taking notice are behind the times.

The future of Burning Man is only as good as its future leaders, and that
makes the future of Burning Man you. Let’s use this opportunity to get our shit together, and help focus and facilitate this outrageous growth in positive and conscious ways.

This blows me away.  I'm going to see Filastine at SXSW!  yusssss!

Make sure you add the tune to your favorites!  And vote. and thanks for all the support!
